  • Flagship of Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto (山本 五十六) during the attack on Pearl Harbor 1941.
  • Battle of Midway (June 1942)
  • Battle of the Philippine Sea (mid 1944)
  • Battle of Leyte Gulf (October 1944) - Nagato was lightly damaged and returned to Japan.
  • Nagato was converted into a floating anti-aircraft platform and assigned to coastal defense duties.
  • Nagato was sunk in mid-1946 after nuclear weapon tests during Operation Crossroads.
