Second Sino-Japanese War (1937)
Flagship of Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto (山本五十六) during the attack on Pearl Harbor 1941.
Battle of Midway (June 1942)
Battle of the Philippine Sea (mid 1944)
Battle of Leyte Gulf (October 1944) - Nagato was lightly damaged and returned to Japan.
Nagato was converted into a floating anti-aircraft platform and assigned to coastal defense duties.
Nagato was sunk in mid-1946 after nuclear weapon tests during Operation Crossroads.
