the lead ship of the two Fusō-class dreadnought battleships (sister ship Yamashiro 山城)
Commissioned: 8 November 1915
on 25 October 1944, Fusō was sunk by torpedoes and naval gunfire during the Battle of Surigao Strait.
After the Battle of Midway, IJN made plans to convert the two Fusō-class battleships (Fusō & Yamashiro) to hybrid battleship-carriers, but the two Ise-class battleships (Ise & Hyūga) were chosen instead.
