  • M24 reached Europe in November 1944 and were issued to  Troop F, 2nd Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron & Troop F, 42nd Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron. These M24 were rushed to the southern sector during the Battle of the Bulge in December 1944.
  • M24s were more successful later in the Korean War in their reconnaissance role and supported by M4 Sherman, M26 Pershing and M46 Patton, along with British Churchill, Comet and Centurion tanks.
  • France employed its M24s in Indo-China as infantry support, with good results. They employed ten M24s in the Battle of Dien Bien Phu [13 March – 7 May 1954]
