Ki-43-I "Ko 甲" - armed with 2 × 7.7 mm Type 89 machine guns.
Ki-43-I "Otsu 乙" - armed with one 12.7 mm Ho-103 machine gun and 1 × 7.7 mm Type 89.
Ki-43-I "Hei 丙" - armed with 2 × 12.7 mm Ho-103, and can mount two 30kg bombs under wings. All early Ki-43 were upgraded to Hei 丙.
隼二型 Late production - can mount drop tanks or bombs (+ 2 × 12.7 mm Ho-103)
Ki-43-III "甲 Ko" - changed engine, armed with 2 × 12.7 mm Ho-103. The only production version of Ki-43-III (隼三型)
