  • Battle of Sunda Strait (28 Feb ~ 1 Mar 1942) -  Australian cruiser HMAS Perth and US cruiser USS Houston were sunk.
  • Battle of Midway (4–5 June 1942)
  • Guadalcanal Campaign - Battle of Edson's Ridge (12–14 September 1942)
  • Battle of Cape Esperance (11 October 1942) - Fubuk was sunk by US cruisers & destroyers.
