  • MTB 77 was sunk by Fw190 on 8 Sep 1943 during Operation Ferdy - Landing at Vibo Marina (in the Calabria region of southern Italy) with the intention of cutting off the German units who were expected to retreat from British Eighth Army landings at the toe of Italy at Reggio Calabria.
