  • Sho't Meteor (late 1960s) - Israeli designation of Centurion Mk 5 tank (105 mm L7 gun), with the original Rolls-Royce Meteor petrol engine, in the Six-Day War in 1967. In the Yom Kippur war (1973), Sho't Kal was vulnerable to Soviet-made weapons such as RPG-2, RPG-7 & AT-3 Sagger (used by Egyptians), culminating in the use of Merkava main battle tanks. All Sho't Meteor are upgraded to Sho't Kal by 1974)
  • Sho't Kal Alef/Bet/Gimel/Dalet - a modernised Centurion tank with a new Continental AVDS-1790-2A diesel engine and the Allison CD850-6 transmission ("Kal" refers to the abbreviation of the engine manufacturer Continental).
    • Sho't Kal Alef (Kal A) (1974) - New engine and transmission, new pannier, modified cupola.
    • Sho't Kal Bet (Kal B) (1976): Add on armor and other improvements.
    • Sho't Kal Gimel (Kal C) (1982): Blazer ERA, new fire control system, new sights, smoke dischargers covers.
    • Sho't Kal Dalet (Kal D) (~1985) - Gun thermal sleeve, new laser rangefinder.
The Valley of Tears - the name given to an area in the Golan Heights after it became the site of a major battle in the 1973 Yom Kippur War, Valley of Tears Battle [6~9 October 1973]. Although massively outnumbered, the Israeli forces managed to hold their positions and on the fourth day of the battle the Syrians withdrew, just as the Israeli defenses were almost at the point of collapse.
